Narrative
A 61-year-old female pedestrian died Wednesday night after a vehicle struck her in the roadway as she left a popular cheesesteak shop in Philly. The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. outside of Delassandro’s Steaks on Henry Avenue, which is between Wendover Street and Jamestown Avenue. The investigation indicates that the woman entered the roadway on foot after exiting the restaurant, at which point a southbound Chevy Malibu struck her. Medics transported the woman to a local hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities identified the victim as Maryanne Ciecka. The driver of the Chevy remained at the scene to speak with police.
