Narrative
MIFFLINTOWN, PA – A 32-year-old and 31-year-old died on Thursday in a collision that threw them from their vehicle and into oncoming traffic on the highway in Mifflintown.
The incident happened at 6:31 a.m. on US-322 near Arch Rock Road, which is just northwest of the Mifflintown Airport.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a driver lost control and crashed into the center median on the westbound side of US-322. The force of the crash threw both the driver and the front-seat passenger from the vehicle and onto the eastbound side of the highway, where they were struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle.
Authorities identified the victims as Thomas Cruz and Samia Ali.
Two other passengers from the first vehicle went to the hospital with non-critical injuries, while the driver of the second vehicle was not hurt in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
