Narrative
ATGLEN, PA – A 36-year-old woman died, and a teen boy went to the hospital when a box truck struck their vehicle along a highway in Western Chester County.
The crash happened at 7:04 a.m. in Sadsbury Township at the intersection of Gap Newport Pike and State Route 372, which is just east of Atglen Community Park.
The investigation indicates that the driver of a southbound box truck neglected to stop for a red light and crashed into the driver’s side of a passenger vehicle as it turned left from State Route 342 eastbound onto northbound Gap Newport Pike.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as Arlene Pacheco Figueroa, died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Figueroa’s 16-year-old passenger sustained critical injuries in the accident.
The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
